Aspen, CO

My family has been going to Colorado every Winter for as long as I can remember. My Father has spent his Winters skiing out West since he was a kid, and the tradition has been passed down to me and my cousins.

This Winter, we had the awesome opportunity to go to Aspen, Colorado for the ESPN Winter X GAMES 2018! X Games returned to Aspen, Colorado's Buttermilk Mountain from January 25-28 for the ‘world's best action sports, music and festival experience’ -- on snow! All sport competitions are free and open to the public, but a few experiences were ticketed, such as seeing Martin Garrix, Marshmello, LCD Soundsystem, and Method Man & Red Man at the X Games GEICO Music Stage at Buttermilk Mountain.

WHAT TO DO: Ski and Snowboard, of course! Aspen is known for its world-renowned skiing, so buy a ski pass (a one-day adult pass is $169 and you can use at four mountains — Highlands, Buttermilk, Aspen or Snowmass.)

WHERE TO STAY: The Little Nell is my favorite hotel in Aspen. It’s the only 5-star, 5-diamond Aspen Hotel. You cannot beat their morning brunch buffet or sundeck yoga (Price range: $558 - $1,938.)

WHERE TO EAT: I had the best time at Campo de Fiori. The night began with a delicious authentic Italian dinner, but around 10pm, the doors closed, the music began to blast, and the patrons (and waiters!) started to get on the tables and dance! We had no idea the joint would turn into a night-club, but it ended up being my most memorable night in Aspen! Looking for a more mellow night? Head to Nobu Matsuhisa’s first Colorado venue (called Matsuhisa) for Nobu-quality sushi from the founder himself. For steak, don’t forget to swing by Jimmy’s. It’s been an Aspen staple for twenty years.

WHERE TO DRINK: Take the Gondola up to Cloud Nine Bistro, for what VOGUE calls “the World’s Wildest Ski Party.” Located 11,000 feet above sea level, at the top of Highlands Mountain, Cloud Nine is a Veuve Clicquot sprayathon accompanied by a DJ bumping music and waiter serving the best fondue you’ve ever tasted. You can only reach Cloud Nine by skiing, snowboarding, or a lift from a snowcat! Dress warmly!

WHERE TO SHOP: Skip Dior and Gucci (you can shop these anywhere) and head right to Gorsuch. Trust me, you'll find what you need here (and then some.)
