My Vitamin Regimen
🔅TOPIC: What is the one supplement you can't live without?
As promised, here's a list of the vitamins+supplements I take. Most of these I take every day, but I think I'm overdoing it (some of these overlap) so I'm going to ask a nutritionist for guidance and I'll post about that too. If anyone knows a #nutritionist off hand, I'd be glad to contact them! Anyways, I'm sort of a supplement fanatic -- I'm constantly researching new trends and breakthroughs in health and anti-aging sciences. DISCLAIMER: these are my own personal opinions. I am not a nutritionist. Please contact your doctor before starting a new healthcare regimen. ALSO: men generally need a higher dosage than women. My MG per day is what a woman needs. Men, please do your research for your daily needs.
🔅Multi-Vitamin. Currently, I'm SEEKING a new daily multi-vitamin. I tried #Ritual, but it was too fishy (this was a while ago and I think they've updated their formula since then to eliminate the fishy smell.) I've also used #centrum but it hurt my stomach. I am considering starting the new Wellness program by #goop (their version of a daily vitamin packet) but it's $75 per month. However, one packet would save me a lot of time because it contains a bunch of the supplements listed below that I'm already taking! Generally, a multi-vitamin contains everything I need for the foundation of my regimen. Look for iron, folic acid, magnesium, calcium, vitamin e, c, d, b6 and b12.
🔅Collagen (3,000-6,000 MG) for healthy skin, hair, nails and teeth. I swear by #neocell brand 'super collagen+c' because they are a reliable tried-and-true brand. Collagen also boosts metabolism!
🔅Biotin (5,000 MCG) for hair growth.
🔅Resveratrol (250 MG) a powerful anti-aging antioxidant made from the skin of red grapes. I like the #resvitale brand.
🔅D3 (5,000 IU) helps the body absorb calcium better and prevents bone loss. 42% of US adults are vitamin D deficient. People with low vitamin D levels are twice as likely to suffer from depression, so I also use it as a mood regulator of sorts.
🔅Ceramides Skin Hydrator by @neocell: a clinically tested supplement formulated with vitamin c and coconut water to increase skin moisture levels up to 36%. Anti-aging.
🔅CoQ10 (200 MG) for a healthy heart and daily energy boost. I love the peach gummies by #vitafusion. Many doctors recommend the Ubiquinol form (soft gel) and to take with an oil or fat like vitamin e, a and d. But I prefer the gummies because they taste so good.
🔅Potassium (99 MG) because I am very deficient. I should definitely be eating more potassium-rich foods, because I don't truly believe in the supplement for this one. Adults generally need 4,700 MG of potassium a day. This is something I'm working on.
🔅Magnesium (300 MG) helps to calm nerves and anxiety. Also for insomnia.
🔅Glucosamine (500-1,500 MG) for joint health / anti-inflammatory. Also aids back pain (Google it.)
🔅S-Acetyl Glutathione (100-300 MG) another b6 vitamin for anti-aging.
🔅Blueberry Extract with Pomegranate. More antioxidant support. I buy #lifeextension brand.
🔅Alpha-Lipoic acid (300-600 MG) another antioxidant option.
🔅Turmeric Extract (400-600 MG) for anti-inflammatory. You could also drink a #turmeric latte. Also apparently helps with depression.
🔅NAD+ for anti-aging, metabolism, and cellular maintenance/repair. This is a new supplement that I read about last week. I plan to order 'Basis' from @elysium_health because it has the best reviews. This supplement is just starting to become trendy, but apparently it's anti-aging properties are unparalleled. NAD+ has been studied since 1906 but only very wealthy clients have used it (via transfusion.) Two really interesting articles about NAD+ are: "I Got a 'Brain Reboot Infusion', the £500 Injection That Can Supposedly Change Your World" by VICE and "How Silicon Valley Is Trying to Hack Its Way Into a Longer Life" by TIME. Google the titles and the articles will come up.
🔅Odorless Fish oil (1,000 MG) every night, because you need Omega-3's. The CVS brand is cheap and works just fine. Also good: Life Extension Super Omega-3 EPA/DHA w/ Sesame Lignans and Olive Extract. I wish I had a #vegan alternative to recommend but I haven't tried any!
🔅Probiotic (Daily) either Philips Colon Health, Align brand, or a GT's Kombucha.
