How to Detox after Art Basel

How to Detox after Art Basel

Every December, thousands of visitors flock to Miami, Florida for Art Basel, an exhibit of Modern and contemporary art from 269 leading galleries from North America, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The works range from paintings and sculptures to performances and films, and highlights from this year's exhibit included "Ground Control," a tribute to David Bowie in which artists utilized Collins Park to imagine and invent new kinds of space. Crowds were awed by the transformational Opening Night experience that set stage for the nights to follow.

As with most events in Miami, Art Basel turned into a party that didn't end when the galleries closed for the evening. Many guests enjoyed late nights of dancing and drinking amongst the glittering stars, and like clockwork, with little sleep, they pulled themselves up in the morning to peruse the collections each morning.

f you're a health-nut like I am, a detox is especially important after a weekend of partying, so here's how I got back into shape whilst still in Miami.

1. Hydration with RAW JUCE

I was invited to preview the opening of Raw Juce's newest location at 959 West Ave in Miami Beach. The 100% organic juices are made fresh daily, and are never pasteurized. Instead they are cold-pressed (cold-pressing is the best method for ensuring that the vital enzymes, nutrients and minerals stay intact) and extremely raw. During a Raw Juce cleanse you will be consuming raw, organic juce that is loaded with nutrients, especially alkalizing minerals โ€“ and no fiber to slow digestion. You are giving your body a chance to rebuild your digestive system, so your body can channel energy into a deep cleansing of toxins, allowing your body to function more efficiently and to heal your body from the inside out. The result? Renewed energy, glowing radiant skin, and improved immune function.

2. Massage with SOOTHE APP

To help my body drain any leftover toxins, I decided to book a deep-tissue massage with Soothe App, right from the comfort of my hotel room. Soothe makes it so easy to book an in-room massage right from your smartphone. Called the "Uber for Massages," it's only $99/hour and the service was excellent. It's available in NYC too!

3. A healthy brunch at The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club

If you're looking to get out of Miami for a few days, be sure to visit this club. Founded in 1946 and nestled on 125 tropical acres along the Gulf of Mexico, The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club is Southwest Floridaโ€™s only beachfront hotel with onsite tennis and spa. Guests are offered clear, beautiful views of the golf course as they enjoy lunch on the patio at Broadwell's, which overlooks the serene lily pond and meticulously-maintained greenery. Highlights of the buffet brunch include fresh fruit, blueberry blintzes, and egg white frittata with avocado. This Monday, January 2nd at 5:30 pm, stop by the club for a complimentary Sunset Yoga Class on the Ocean Lawn (sounds dreamy, right?) Don't forget your Nutracine Sunscreen, though! ALWAYS use SPF 30+.
