Why I Started This Blog
Hi everyone! Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog. I have been working hard to try to create a space in which I can share my day-to-day life, inspirations, and ideas, so that hopefully I can inspire and influence others to join me in living healthier, more mindful lives.
It appears to me that society, in general, has taken an interest in becoming healthier. Within the last few years, I have noticed green-juice shops sprouting from the concrete like weeds, labels such as "non-GMO" and "gluten-free" appearing on almost every product at my local Whole Foods, and trends such as "Athleisure" taking the country by storm. In the midst of all this, I decided to join in.
When my mother suddenly passed away in 2013, I sank into a deep depression. I began to live an extremely unhealthy life, one of which I was not proud. Ironically, I found myself to be wasting away in the "City of Dreams," until a friend of mine suggested that I take a part-time job at a yoga studio. I took her advice, and I was immersed in a new community. Practicing yoga every day soon turned into a ritual for me, and within a few months, my outlook on life had changed. I felt full of purpose and joy. "Yoga changed my life," I would tell my friends...a cliché statement that proved to be true.
Fast-forward two years and here I stand, authoring a blog about health and wellness. I am neither a nutritionist nor a pro-athlete, however, I love everything health-related and I have become borderline obsessed with spreading fitness-related information/news/advice to anyone who's willing to listen to me, hence why I started this blog.
Please follow along with me as I continue on this path to greater self-awareness, self-love, and mindful living. Namaste.
