Attention NYC friends: if you are looking for free fitness events this summer, check out Wellness Wednesdays, brought to you by the Flatiron/23rd Street Partnership. Eight weeks of free fitness classes run from June 22nd to August 10th. The Flatiron District, often known as the "fitness district," will offer the following:

Wednesday, June 22nd: Shanti Sweat with Yoga Shanti

This is not just any “get your sweat on.” Shanti Sweat is a way to get an intelligently-sequenced flow class that is a vigorous workout. Come and sweat your intentions and feel light and free. 

Wednesday, June 29th: Core Fusion Yoga with exhale Flatiron

Relax your mind and re-energize your body in the soulful and athletic practice that fuses flow yoga with intense core work for the ultimate mind-body experience.

Wednesday, July 6th: Shanti Flow with Yoga Shanti

In this class you can expect to break a sweat with a lot of standing postures and core work. You will also learn some fundamentals about how to do "vinyasas" with good alignment.

Wednesday, July 13th: ReinventYOU with ChaiseFitness

The ReinventYOU series incorporates moves from a lineup of ChaiseFitness' exclusive programming and classes, with the use of a resistance band that delivers a complete and intensely-efficient workout in a compressed time frame.

Wednesday, July 20th: Reggie Time: Core and Strength Conditioning with NY Personal Training 

This class is a core and strengthening workshop without any equipment, using only your own body weight.

Wednesday, July 27th: MHRC Strong with Mile High Run Club

This 45-minute body weight strength and conditioning class for runners of all fitness levels is designed to build strength, power, and stability. The training supports sports performance, VO2 MAX, weight loss goals, and is helpful for injury prevention.

Wednesday, August 3rd: Fight Like a Woman: Intelligence and Poise with Gotham Jiu Jitsu

Gotham Jiu Jitsu is sharing the art of self-defense. Within an hour, learn fundamental techniques used to fight back and escape from most situations.

Wednesday, August 10th: SIN Crawl with SIN Workouts

SIN Crawl is a circuit-based HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) full body workout designed by SIN Workout's trainers where participants will hop from station to station. 

Wellness Wednesday fitness classes take place from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the South Flatiron Public Plaza, on Broadway between 22nd and 23rd Streets. Classes are free and open to the public, but are subject to change due to weather. Follow @FlatironNY on Twitter for updates.
