Brand Spotlight: Kit+Ace
"This is technical apparel
for your real life."
Kit+Ace was founded in 2014 by Shannon Wilson and JJ Wilson (son of Chip Wilson, the founder of Lululemon) as a means to combine the best principles of athletic design with super-luxurious basics that you can wear all day.
How were they able to create athletic wear out of cashmere? With a team of designers, engineers and scientists "committed to meticulous research, testing and iteration."
Kit+Ace is known best for their Technical Cashmere™ which you can work out in and then throw in the wash (yes, I've done it.) They also have silk with dynamic stretch, and ponte that feels so much better than your average yoga pants.
Every piece at Kit+Ace is wear-tested for 288 hours for outstanding functional details – shrink integrity, breathability, venting, wicking, stain shield technology, performance trims and meticulous Italian tailoring. To top it all off, the line is gorgeous and they make clothing for both men and women.
I was lucky enough to be invited to Kit+Ace in the new Westfield Mall in the Oculus (which is an incredible building.) I was asked to partake in a Fit and Design session, where I tried on almost every piece of their line in order to provide them with feedback on the fit and feel of the various pieces.
Kit+Ace is everything that they promise to be. Luxurious, functional, and chic. The pieces easily took me from daytime in the yoga studio to nighttime out on the town. The fabrics are so soft that this brand has become my go-to for gifts (to myself and to friends and family.) Below find some of my favorite pieces.
