Vail has been a favorite place of mine since I was a child. I learned to ski at age 3 and switched to a snowboard at 13. There is no place on earth quite like Vail. It’s a cowboy town, and unlike Aspen (which is full of glitz and glamour) it has stayed true to it’s roots (for the most part.)
WHERE TO STAY: Montaneros in Vail is an exquisite condominium property located at the base of Vail Mountain in Lionshead Village. These beautiful accommodations range from 1- to 4-bedroom condominiums. Guests at Montaneros enjoy full hotel services and they’re rated 4.5 of 5 at TripAdvisor. Price range: $195 - $896 per night. Another favorite: The Arrabelle at Vail Square ($750 per night.)
WHERE TO EAT: My favorite low-key spot is The Little Diner. The food is incredible (I've tried everything on the menu) and so are the prices. You can score a breakfast burrito for $8.99! Looking for something more upscale? Head to Montauk Seafood Grill, where they serve the freshest fish and best Lobster mac.
BE SURE TO EXPLORE: Vail Village. The shopping is awesome and there’s a beautiful ice skating rink right in the center of it all.
